Welcome to our little Heritage Town

Visit Historic Irvinebank and lose yourself in the past. Anyone interested in living history and heritage architecture should definitely visit the Irvinebank area. Hidden deep within the wild ranges west of Herberton and less then 2 hours’ drive from Cairns, it is one of North Queensland’s best kept secrets. Allow a full day for your visit or stay overnight in our free campground and experience old time country hospitality.

The Irvinebank School of Arts and Progress Association can offer experiences for groups visiting Irvinebank, day trips or overnight – the free campground with toilets and shower (gold coin) or we can organise accommodation. Catering for groups and tours also available, we can assist with whatever you need, all our activities fund raise for the preservation of our heritage buildings. We also operate a little shop, details further down this page.

Our magnificent School of Arts Hall is also available for functions, weddings, concerts & parties, it has a modern kitchen, plenty of parking. Please make contact with the Secretary at irvinebankprogress@gmail.com for bookings and more info.

Irvinebank School of Arts and Progress Association Meeting

The School of Arts Hall.

All are welcome.

Every First Sunday of the Month 10am.

Date Change for April & May 2026 – the meetings will be on the 2nd Sunday of those months, in order to avoid public holiday weekends. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Every Saturday we have ‘The Tin Scratchers Bar’ at the Hall including Jag the Joker! and a food offering. Please see notice in town, FB or contact irvinebankprogress@gmail.com for info

Irvinebank now has a little shop, selling grocery items, snacks, icecreams and drinks it’s also our little op shop. All run by volunteers and raising money for the preservation of our heritage town. Eftpos available , the shop is generally open 7 days per week from 10am -2pm, subject to volunteer availability. Call Lou on 0459123499 if you require more info prior to driving out.

Preparations are well underway for our Festival 2026-

Back To Irvinebank – John Moffat Festival. July 31st starts with Open Mic evening etc at the hall, campers roll in and set up. Saturday 1st Aug – festival opens 10am, markets, displays, music, kids activities, food and much much more, Saturday night Jeremy Fletcher Band in the hall. Sunday recovery breakfast at the hall.
